Follow the instructions below to configure your Star TSP743
thermal receipt printer/cash drawer:
- Download the driver for your printer
here. Make sure you save this
file to your desktop.
- Once the driver is downloaded, run the installation program.
- Click the button labeled "Extract files for installation via Windows Add
Printer Wizard".
- In the dialog box that will pop up asking if you would like to install
the Status Monitor, click the "Yes" button.
- Click "OK" in the box confirming the files have been extracted.
- Plug in the thermal printer to your computer's USB port, to the power
supply, and using the cable included, to the cash drawer.
- Turn the printer on.
- After a minute or so, your computer will display the "Welcome to the
Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box. Choose the option labeled "Install
from a list or specific location (Advanced)", and click the "Next>" button.
- Uncheck the "Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...)" option, and
check the box next to "Include this location in the search:".
- Click the "Browse" button to the right of the dialog box.
- Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list, and find the "Star"
folder.
- Click the + sign next to the "Star" folder.
- Click the folder labeled "StarRas", then click the "OK" button at the
bottom of the dialog box.
- Click the "Next>" button at the bottom of the dialog box.
- Wait while the system processes your request, then choose the "Star
TSP700 Raster Printer" option, and click the "Next>" button.
- When the dialog box pops up telling you the driver is not digitally
signed, click the "Continue Anyway" button at the bottom of the box.
- Once the system tells you you have finished installing the software for
the Star TSP700 Raster Printer, click the "Finish" button at the bottom of
the dialog box.
- Once rebooted, click on "Start" then go to "Control Panel" then
"Printers and Faxes".
- Right click the "Star TSP700 Raster Printer" and go to "Properties".
- Click on the "Raster Print Options" tab at the top of the dialog box.
- Drop down the box labeled "End Page/End Doc" and choose the "Partial
Cut/Partial Cut" option.
- Drop down the box labeled "Drawer 1 Action/Timing" and choose "Document
Top".
- Click "OK" at the bottom of the dialog box.
- Download the driver for your printer
here. Make sure you save this
file to your desktop.
- Once the driver is downloaded, double click the ZIP file on your desktop
and it will unzip into the Star folder.
- Double click the "PrintDrv_MacOSX_20020628.pkg" file.
- Click the "Continue" button in the lower right corner of the dialog box.
- Click the "Continue" button in the lower right corner of the dialog box.
- Click the "Continue" button in the lower right corner of the dialog box.
- Click the "Agree" button in the confirmation box.
- Click the "Continue" button in the lower right corner of the dialog box.
- Click the "Install" button in the lower right corner of the dialog box.
- Once the software has installed, click the "Close" button in the lower
right corner of the dialog box.
- Plug in the thermal printer to your computer's USB port, to the power
supply, and using the cable included, to the cash drawer.
- Turn the printer on.
- From the Dock, click on "System Preferences".
- Double click the "Print & Fax" Icon.
- Click the button labeled "+" near the left side of the dialog box.
- Click on the option for the "TSP700 (STR_T-U001)", then click the "Add"
button at the lower right of the dialog box.
- Click the red "X" button at the upper left corner of the dialog box.
You can now print from the webPOS system and your cash drawer will open upon
printing by selecting the printer you just installed in the print dialog box in
your web browser. Be sure you also follow the instructions in the new POS setup
checklist for setting your headers and margins.
